"Closing Thoughts on Media and Information Literacy"

In our time today, everything just moves so quickly without us noticing it. From papyrus, we have digital writing now. From walking barefoot, we have plenty of mobiles and transportation to ease our burdens and to make our life easier. From going house to house to disseminate public information, now in just a click, the whole world can know everything. The fast innovations and digital evolution really made us equip and complacent about what we have right now.

Technology gave rise to different inventions that swept a lot of traditional ways. Now we have a lot social media platforms to communicate and share information around the globe. It also served as an place where anyone can express their thoughts and opinions about something. It can be a source of living for some, like doing or posting blogs and vlogs that can be interesting for some. But, despite the fast and rapid change in our society today, people tend to be very expressive and sometimes it goes beyond borders.

In this generation, young people like me must be media and information literate. We must have the talent to analyze, critique, and create media and information. Today, we can't trust everything on the web as we can't trust anyone in this world. We must be able to analyze and understand media and information if it is real and not fake. Fake news nowadays are very invasive in the minds of children and also the youth who doesn't know the real situation. One can be a victim if one does not filter and check what he or she can access in the internet. One must also be able to create media  and information. It can be in any forms like music, video or blogs. Today, information is not limited to a single frame and medium. There a lot ways to create media and information that can be trusted. As a future media influencer, being media and information literate is important because we can access, organize, evaluate and create messages for the future generations in variety of forms.

Here are some tips for me to become a better netizen:

1.  Think before you click. Never post something when you are angry or desperate. In that way, you can control your feelings and not post something that will hurt others online.

2. Reduce your time in engaging in the internet. It is good to be able to know the world by engaging yourself literally. Have time to relax and enjoy the things in life.

3. Always remember that you are not the only one in the internet world. You must be careful and anxious when lingering in the web. You can't trust anyone.

4. Control your thoughts and opinions. Remember, you are not alone.

5. Spread posivity and happiness. It is good to make someone inspired and happy when they see your post.

Everyday

"Every day a different body. Every day a different life. Every day in love with the same girl.
There’s never any warning about where it will be or who it will be. A has made peace with that, even established guidelines by which to live: Never get too attached. Avoid being noticed. Do not interfere (Levithan,2012)."

Everyday is a young adult romance and fantasy novel. It was written by David Levithan and published on August 28, 2012. Everyday is about the story of A, a person who wakes up occupying a different body each day. A doesn't have a real name, nor a precise gender or sexuality. A just inhabits a body just for 24 hours and wakes up the next day with another one.A never inhabits the same body more than once. A has his own memory but were also able to know the memories of the person he is in.That is the life of A, like everyday.

The story starts when A woke up in the body of Justin, a teenage boy. At school, A meets Justin's girlfriend, Rhiannon, and feels a unique connection to her. Based on Justin's memories, A can tell that Justin and Rhiannon are having a hard time in their relationship. So A invited Rhiannon to the beach to comfort her. A just felt something special about Rhiannon, and told her that he is not Justin on the beach, that he is A.

Rhiannon was able to know the real situation of A and understands him. Everyday they would meet and A is in a different body. A would sometimes be a man, woman, child, and old man. Rhiannon understands the situation of A, and realizes that a relationship with A is just completely impossible even if she wants to.

My favorite character would be A. A is so helpful and positive towards the people he is with even in a short period of time. A can adjust with other people ,specifically people with different personalities. Moreover, when A met Rhiannon, he was more vibrant. He find ways to meet up with Rhiannon even if it's hard for the both of them. I can relate to him because even if he is different, he was still able to embrace himself and tell Rhiannon his true self and identity, and I like that attitude.

I think I would not change the plot of the story or even the characters, even though he and Rhiannon did not work out. Everything happens for a reason, and I believe A will find the answers Someday.

Everyday comes with a sequel Another day and Someday. Everyday is also a  2018 American romantic fantasy drama film directed by Michael Sucsy and written by Jesse Andrews,

In the commercial, Sandara Park is Dancing with Mario Maurer in a Party. There are many people in the party and they are dancing happily. The camera shots were good. It has a  close-up to the hair of Mario Maurer and Sandara Park and a wide angular shot to show the party they are in. Some of the shots focused on other people looking to them will they are dancing together.

Sandara and Mario are dancing to the floor with other people when Sandara notice something on Mario's suit. It was full of falling dandruff. Then Sandara recommended to Mario to use Head & Shoulders. Then Mario used the Head & Shoulders that Sandara gave him. The camera shots in this portion was focused on Mario's hair while he's washing his hair. Then all his dandruff vanished. When they attended another party, nothing bothered Mario and Sandara with their dance on the dance floor.

"Feedback to Dear Future Generations: Sorry"

Trees. One word, five letters, but only a few knows how important they are and what they really are. So let me tell you about trees. Well, a tree is a plant which has a trunk and has branches. It comeS with different kinds and varieties. They are considered as the biggest plants in the planet. They are all beautiful.

The video "Dear Future Generations: Sorry" is a very good motivation and inspirational campaign for trees. It tells us the importance of trees in our lives. It does not only stand as a single plant on the ground with nothing to do, it does a lot of function and help in our surroundings. They give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilize the soil and give life to the world's wildlife.

It gives us clean air to breathe, and also, a source of necessity for our everyday routine like food, money etc. Despite the good provision of trees for us. People never learn. People never understand. People would still cut down trees to fulfill their desire for money. But it is not to late to solve this problem. Instead of making the problem worsen, let's be part of the solution to restore our trees and wildlife. It is not too late to correct what we have mistaken.

"Not only are trees essential for life, but as the longest living species on earth, they give us a link between the past, present and future."

The message of the video was clearly conveyed. Even though it was only in video, the message was really heart whelming and straight to the point. It is intended to a wide array of audiences like students, teachers, and all sorts of people coming from different sects of the society. The message was effectively sent by digital video. The video also challenges us to help conserve, protect, and love our nature especially the trees that are rapidly fading in today's generation.

Let's SAVE

TREES!

"The Importance of Modern Media to me as part of the Youth and as a Filipino"

Media is the collective communication outlets or tools used to store and deliver information or data. It is either associated with communication media, or the specialized mass media communication businesses such as print media and the press, photography, advertising, cinema, broadcasting, publishing and point of sale. (Wikipedia, 2018).

Nowadays, media is very important. For me as a student, media makes me informed about the happenings in my surroundings, what's new, and what needs to be given given attention. Media also gives me the type of entertainment and leisure that I specifically need, like watching my favorite movie or TV series or it can be the genre of books that I wanted to read. Moreover, with the advancement of technology, media has leveled up also. We have digital games, social media sites that is very rampant in our time, and many more to explore.

Although media and information has many advantages, there is always this bad effects and shortfalls. Media and information made us very dependent. Like in everything we do, we can reach it with just one click. With the help of technology, we have a lot of social media sites like facebook, instagram, twitter etc. Despite that advancement, young people nowadays including me tend to like, share, and post unnecessary information that is not helpful in our society. We tend to believe in fake news and be as numb like others. Some people are not also aware of the things there are posting online if it can affect and bring confusion to others. People nowadays tend to visit other sites that are not appropriate for their age. Moreover, it makes people dumb and lazy.

"Media and Information literacy produces careful and critical thinkers."

As a student, it is important for me to know and be knowledgeable about media and information literacy. Young people like me must be educated properly about the proper etiquette and DO's and DONT's when reading, writing and watching information.

When we are literate, we are able to interpret and make informed judgements. It teaches us how to inquire information, use our knowledge properly, think critically in different situations, and understand the right thing to do. Also, it teaches us to create useful information and communicate that information to the public. When a lot of people are literate, we can build knowledged societies for the development of our country.
